Diagnosis
Evaluation includes a detailed medical history, neurological examination, and review of available imaging studies. EMG and nerve conduction studies (NCS) may be used to assess nerve function and help identify the location of nerve compression or injury. Your evaluation also considers spine-related conditions that can produce similar symptoms.
Treatment Options
Treatment recommendations are individualized based on the underlying condition and severity of symptoms. Non-surgical options may include activity modification, splinting, medications, physical therapy, and injections in selected cases. When significant nerve compression is identified, surgical decompression may be recommended to relieve pressure on the affected nerve.
