Meningiomas develop from the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Most are benign and slow-growing.
Possible Symptoms
Headaches
Seizures
Weakness
Visual symptoms
Neurological changes depending on location
Diagnosis
CT or MRI commonly identifies a meningioma and helps determine its location, size, and relationship to surrounding structures.
Treatment
Small asymptomatic tumors may be monitored. Larger or symptomatic tumors may be treated with surgery or stereotactic radiosurgery.
