Lumbar spinal stenosis is narrowing of the spinal canal in the lower back that can compress nerve roots.


Common Symptoms

  • Leg pain when standing or walking

  • Numbness

  • Tingling

  • Weakness

  • Symptoms that improve when sitting or bending forward


Diagnosis

Diagnosis combines neurological examination with imaging such as MRI to evaluate narrowing of the lumbar spinal canal.


Treatment

Treatment may include physical therapy, medication, injections, or surgical decompression depending on severity and functional limitation.
