Back Pain

Back pain can arise from muscles, ligaments, spinal joints, discs, nerves, or degenerative changes within the spine.


Common Causes

  • Traumatic spinal injuries

  • Degenerative disc disease

  • Herniated discs

  • Spinal stenosis

  • Nerve compression

  • Muscle or ligament strain


Evaluation

Evaluation may include a detailed medical history, physical and neurological examination, and imaging when a structural spinal condition is suspected.


Treatment

Treatment may include activity modification, medication, physical therapy, injections, or surgery when significant structural compression or spinal instability is present.
